Nanosafety tools on trial

Ineke Malsch • 14 oktober 2019

During the Nanosafety Cluster Week, 7-10 October 2019 in Copenhagen, Denmark, I attended training sessions for tools evaluated in the CaLIBRAte project. The nano-Risk Radar enables continuous horizon scanning of emerging risk governance issues. Nanosafer supports risk management of nanomaterials. The nano-Species Sensitivity Weighted Distribution (nSSWD) module in the SUNDS decision support system assists eco-toxicologists. The Simplebox4Nano supports Life Cycle Assessment of nanomaterials. Other tools were also demonstrated to potential users. All tools are designed to support experts to improve the safety of handling nanomaterials in industry and of the nanoenabled products during their life cycle. The CaLIBRAte website includes more info in the tools.
